20140222 NJ VA

First it was over to the wonderful franchise World of Beer in New Brunswick, NJ. Besides appetizers including a giant pretzel, had a

Flying Fish - Exit 1 with Cocoa Mole - Oyster Stout (#4,805)

Heavy Seas - Siren Noire - Imperial Stout

Schloss Eggenberg - Samichlaus Helles - helles bock

Then it was off to VA via DC for a brief association meeting.

The group is celebrating their 75th anniversary, so one of the employees - a 14-year home brewer - cooked up some special all grain recipes.

During the office tour, we sampled:

AIH-Ale - American Pale Ale

Chocolate Cranberry Milk Stout - English dark sweet stout

75 Saison - Belgian Saison farmhouse ale

in honor of the association's 75th anniversary

Later that evening we went over to the Mad Fox Brewing Company.

Now as luck would have it, this was the Mad Fox 4th annual barleywine festival. And barleywine ales are a favorite of MR.
Once the tears of not were over, it was time to consume some great signature Mad Fox burgers.
Also tried some of the following barleywines:

Mad Fox - Slobberknocker 2103 [8%]

Heavy Seas - Below Decks 2012 [10%]

Lost Rhino Brewing - 2022 LBS of Sin [9%]

Mad Fox - Orange Slobberknocker 2103 [8%]

Vintage 50 Restaurant - Bad Kitty Barleywine [10.5%]

DuClaw - Devil's Milk / Hell on Wood [10.5%]

Starr Hill - Bandstand Barleywine 2013 [10.5%]
